Hero bets 8.52 BB, BTN calls 8.52 BB

Turn: (41.36 BB, 2 players) 3♠
Hero bets 21.52 BB, BTN calls 21.52 BB

I realized before hand that the villain is an extremely tight player but I still couldn't help myself from 4betting small pre.

Once I hit trips in 4bet pot, I feel obliged to shove this river even vs the super nit.

Thoughts?

I would 4bet bigger. As for postflop - I guess you lose to AQ only so I dont mind shove. IMHO better than x/c.

That's right, encourage him to make losing moves

Fold is the correct move here. Why do you make such a risky moves against the lazy nits? AJs is not strong enough hand to consider even a small 4bet.

Against a nit this seems like a easy fold pre-flop. If I would 4bet I would make it at least 3x out of position.
Post-flop seems reasonable with trips.

Point is with that size we dont achieve anything. Even nit will have there 0% fold to our '4bet'. We dont get ANY information excluding times when he 5bets. IMHO against nit its ok because BU vs earlier positions is spot when nits plays closest to average TAG. NItty stats are in most part result of poor blinds defense. Obviously unless we are talking about 12/9 6max 'lag' from netherlands. Then I'm turbo folding pre ♦

Why the Netherlands?

Because of most of them ride bicycles which makes them very nitty. They are the typical "on your bike" archetype of players.
