Very interesting thread I feel similar - I am winning at poker NL10 but I want to play even more. When I have downswing, then it becomes more boring and don't want poker so much. But one more thing is that I earn little money yet in my real work, so my excuse is - I play poker to earn money at least a little. Then I move up and will earn more.
But I guess if I would earn much money, it would never be enough then I would want better car, or something.
Sometimes I do sports, for 0.5 hour sessions, maybe 2 times a week, not that much but better than nothing.

And one more thing which keeps me want to play and study poker - parents and similar people who think that I will loose everything sooner or later, or they don't think I can earn serous money from poker. I want to prove them that it is possible, that would be so awesome that they would think - yeah, we were wrong. Because I am tired hearing so often that I should not play this.

Yeah, i know how it feels ♦ And it sucks that people can't be like "ok, try it, we'll see who's right", they always say "you won't win, don't play it, it's bad..."
How do you think am I addicted if I spend (study + play) 10-25 hours a week on poker? I don't think I am, but many addicted persons does not say they are addicted. But my parents say.
Maybe I should set some maximum time per week for poker, like max 10 hours per week? How much do you think is maximum?
Addicted if u play 10-25h / week ? I feel no problem till i reach 40h / week doing the same thing..btw in poker if u wanna achieve smt u gotta be addicted.. anyway, if you are told ur addicted just say yes u are, but not more then you (parents) to your own jobs.. they gotta spend more then 25h / week there..

in a good nl10 month i make double of the average salary in my country... some places suck too much compared to a..UK/SWE. and btw I AM addicted , and i got no problem with that.
why don't you move up then? Or maybe you are living of NL10 so have to cash out regularly?
