0.25/0.5 Fixed-Limit Hold'em (10 handed)
Hand recorder used for this poker hand: Elephant 0.90 by www.pokerstrategy.com.

Preflop: Hero is UTG1 with 9♥, 9♠
UTG folds, Hero raises, 6 folds, SB calls, BB folds.

Flop: (5.00 SB) K♥, Q♠, T♦ (2 players)
SB checks, Hero bets, SB calls.

Turn: (3.50 BB) 8♥ (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

I'm torn between betting again to bluff and check, then folding the river. I know this seems like a very basic question but somethings, i like to make sure that i am not making mistakes when i shouldn't be.
River: (3.50 BB) 4♣ (2 players)
SB bets, Hero folds, SB gets uncalled bet back.

Final Pot: 3.50 BB

hey,

i think you should bet/fold the turn as he might have peeled with Ax that has the gutshot and Ax. overall 7 outs and if he checkraises its almost always 2pair, a set or AJ and thus your outs ain't enough to play bet/call. he could have also called with some Jx Hands. since he is almost unknown you don't know whether you foldet the winning hand. as played you should call the river against smaller PP's or Ax J8 J7s or some kind of hands he could barrel with.

if you are confident that he is quite passive, fold on the river is fine.

Thank you.
