Hey all. I'm pretty much a new player starting out. I've been messing around for a few months and now trying to take the game much more seriously.

Anyways, I was wondering how you guys have progressed through different poker games, bet types and stakes throughout your entire career.

e.g. Started at FL FR Holdem, moved to NL FR Holdem, moved to NL 6-max. Played PL Omaha then moved to stud.

I suppose you can be more detailed about which levels you got up to, but I just thought it'd be interesting to see who moved straight from Holdem to stud and who tried FL before they tried 6-max.

I don't have to worry about different game types for quite a long time (gonna try grinding it up through FL Holdem), but it'd be interesting to see what you guys have done.

I'm also a new player, playing for about a year so far

My poker path went this way:

Normal SNG - > Turbo SNG -> NLHE 6-max -> PLO -> 8-Game/10-Game

I think it's good to try various poker variants, each one of them makes teaches some concepts and in the end you become a better player.

About every no limit holdem sng imaginable and cash games. currently playing hu sng.

I'd never play FL. I'm just a way too agressive player by nature that i'd never ever enjoy it in a million years. Might consider like Omaha in the future though. And learning MTT + cash games.

FYP

FLHE up to 0.1/0.2 > NLHE 6max SNGs up to $3 > NLHE 6max up to 0.01/0.02 > PLO 6max 0.02/0.05 or PLO 6max $3 SNGs (right now)

Around 1 year in total xD

Mine is like:

Limit Holdem FR to $2/$4 -> Limit Holdem 6-max (fail) -> NL Holdem (fail) -> NL Holdem 6-max (fail) -> PLO (mostly fail) -> RUSH (fail) -> NL2 (so far so good)

The original Limit Holdem was pre-UIGEA so $2/$4 was only two limits from the bottom back then. Kind of like playing $0.10/$0.20 now. In between all of the fail there was usually long non-poker gaming including WoW. Also I'm a bankroll nit so a lot of that fail is just losing 10-15BI. PLO was like break-even. I am up 20BI on NL2 so you NL5 guys better watch out! _cool: :f_love:

FLHE, almost immediately -> NLHE FR -> SnG -> NLHE SH. Had some nice MTT cashes along the way, but the variance is so brutal that I just stick to cash games now.

I started at the nosebleeds now I play nl2 6 max on stars, remember its not about money, its about making the right decisions.

NL2 Full ring -> doubled my bankroll by donking tournament -> cashed out -> lost all that was left on NL full ring -> got another bankroll, started NL2 full ring -> NL2 SH -> NL10 SH ->NL 2 SH->NL10 SH -> NL4 SH
