Hi there Gabin!
Just found your blog, love it! GL to you and take the red spade chance next time:).
Hi mate,
Read your blog from start to finish, really impressed with the level of your thinking. Way more advanced than what I'm used to. Analysed some of your hands to study.
From what I've scribbled down, the move you made on the 662 flop with 99 (ch/minR) against UTG oR/calling your 3bet in position pf is immediately profitable, especially if he's holding a wider range than TT+, ATs+ and AQo+ or will call the minR with hands like AK, AQ and then check it down unimproved!
You've inspired me to improve my thinking and I'm on a quest to do so, starting today!
Regards, will follow with interest
Matt

Hi. Thanks. I'm glad to hear I had a positive influence on you. Go kick some ass ♠_thumbsup:
PS: not all of the hands posted earlier in the blog are well played (my thought process might have changed meanwhile)
This is the graph with all the hands played after my deposit.

Not cool, Stars.
Even though the graph looks like that, I feel great and I play great. ♠_cool:
Still improving daily.
great attitude I like that
I had a bit of a rocky start in SH but I haven't let the variance worry me and it's payed off! Climbing atm!
That graph is sick though.
There are 7 days left in this month. I have played 49.6K hands this month till now.
Challenge: Play another 40K till the end of the month.
( I don't want to set any monetary goals, but I expect/want to win @$500 in this week)

Ok, that was not a good idea ![]()

2 days played, started good - ended bad. It seems that playing so long hours seriously deteriorates my game.
Now I'm afraid to continue the challenge because I'm close to the point of going back to 10NL. So I'm gonna stop this and just play my usual.

8 tables. 5K first day, 6.5K second (took me 7 hours)
It takes a lot to keep up your A-game when you're tired.
Maybe approach the challenge in steps? First play 3h non stop, then review your hand history: look for mistakes you wouldn't have done normally (i.e. mistakes that are likely caused by tiredness and 'autopilot') and once you're comfortable with your ability to play 3 hrs without your game deteriorating - play 4h non-stop, again look for mistakes and omissions, once comfortable move on; 5h, etc.
I bought a plasma lamp.

(it's not my picture, but it looks like this)
It fascinates me, I can't stop watching it and touching it.
Anyways...
My 10 months plan says that In August I'm gonna play 10NL and in September & October 25NL - so I'm right on schedule, even with the latest losses. I'm gonna be focusing on playing my best only again and improving everyday.
Short review for August

I started playing NL10, I hit 30BI for NL25 and jumped in hoping for no downswing. That didn't happen. I lost a lot of value at NL25 because I lost way more than I should have lost in the bad periods. Firstly when the big swing at the beginning came I made a ton of mistakes, then I started to calm down and began to build again with the variance on my side this time. After that I made a challenge for myself, which was not a good idea (reasons above), where I made a tons of mistakes and lost value by playing tired for too long.
Now I've found a new tempo for me, that works great. I'm playing 3-4 short sessions of 800 hands per day (at 6 tables) - this I observed is the number of hands that I can play feeling good and watching the actions really attentive, playing great game.
I had a rocky month, but for me it's nonetheless a success. I overcame some nasty situations, I improved my game and I further increased my BR.
PS: some extra news will come shortly, I will post later.
Those line of yours can't stand each other huh? I bet the green line have a very bad smell and the yellow one just running from it because of this. I really like how you always see the positive side no matter what. Rock on!

are you planning to go in Brazil next year? I think this is amazing! I read a blog a couple of months ago about some guys who planned to go in Philippines, for poker too.

Yes, it's probable. I'm not sure though, many things can happen in half a year.
The Big Question
Why will you succeed over others?
- What are you willing to do that most others are not?
- What are you willing to sacrifice?
- How will you be special?
In poker everybody thinks that they can beat everybody. That they will have a great income and great life after that, but how many do actually achieve this? Only a few.
Why do others fail to you? What is that they don't do that you do?
With average effort you can only become average.
Performance time!
