Ha, really awesome challenge. I also wish I could turn around from being a night owl, but unfortunately I don't see it being possible anytime soon. ![]()
What happens when you go to bed at 0:00 or 1:00 and can't fall asleep? You just lay there until you do?

Well I guess if you don't play with your phone/tablet/laptop you would still fall asleep after some minutes as long as your mind is not busy thinking about a million things anymore. I for instance can fall asleep anytime of the day within 15 minutes. Like so many other things in life it's just a mind thing.
Thanks, vonki
And yes, sometimes I can't fall asleep, so I listen to some audiobook, or just wait it out
Fortunately it doesn't happen very often ^^
Ramble, the sleep discipline is definitely helping - I can feel myself being more focused, doing less mistakes etc.
Guided meditation, doing breathing exercises helps me quite a bit to fall asleep when struggling to do so. Another thing is looking into your actual sleep environment and improving it. Better bed, pillow etc. Bed and computer chair are two things I'm willing to spend up to 10k on. You just use it so much that it's priceless to me.
Nice challenge. i admire your work ethic and attempts at change. I'm such a night-owl i'd find it very hard ![]()

Yesterday I continued trying out the more aggressive playstyle (keeping the good red line).
I did less mistakes than previous time, but still need to keep my focus the whole session - made a few spewy decisions, that costed me ~100$.
SLEEP TIME:
- January 5th - 01:00
Sessions:
- NL25 [520 hands] -58.0$ (session mistakes: how to lose 272 BB
) - NL25 [520 hands] +54.8$
- NL25 [520 hands] +17.3$ (session mistakes: another blowout)

Tournaments:
- Spin & Go $5 [8 tournaments - 3 wins] +30$
- 6max MTT (3.3$, 1.1$, 3.3$, 11$) -18.7$
- 6max SnG $3.5 (6 tournaments - 1 small cash) -13.5$
I don't know, why I'm trying these 6max tournaments, everytime just busting out against some lucky fishes and getting tilted. It's actually amazing, how many bad players are there.. If only I had patience to deal with them.

lol be happy. Or would you prefer to get crushed? Like you said -> just be patient.
That's the problem, last few days I was trying out an aggressive playstyle, and it's hard to suddenly adjust it to these fishy tournaments. Especially cause it's not Zoom, hands rotate so slowly there ![]()
I think I'll just stick to cash games for a while. I need all focus there, while I'm trying out new stuff.

Do you know this is one of the things that frustrates me the most. I'm sitting at a table seeing ridiculous play and people calling down with second pair on flushed boards, thinking please... just give me a hand against this idiot.. then I get AK, miss, AQ miss. It tilts the hell out of me sometimes
Yesterday broke one of the discipline points - poker only after lunch. Which reminded me, why it's one of my daily goals - morning sessions are usually frustrating (mind is not ready yet, not focused enough, getting tilted easily).
Which led to a couple tilty sessions afterwards, and staying up till 3AM. Will fix it today.
SLEEP TIME:
- January 6th - 03:00
* Punishment for discipline errors: today's sleep time 0AM.
Sessions:
- NL25 [550 hands] -27.7$ (session mistakes: preflop either 4bet or fold.. and this is a clear fold)
- NL25 [500 hands] -24.4$ (session mistakes: river clear fold, got frustrated by the river card)
- NL25 [510 hands] -111.6$ (session mistakes: just tilted off
) - NL25 [550 hands] +47.9$
- NL50 [500 hands] +28.4$
Tournaments:
- Spin & Go $5 [12 tournaments - 5 wins] +0$
But you did not tile them bad 3bet, bad 4bet, you think you made mistake post flop, in many cases there was very close spot. Pre flop mistakes>post flop. Like 4beting with A5o when there is a cold caller, or 3beting with A7o. Do you randomly make such plays?
I know, I start reraising a bit too loose, when I get tilty.
But usually some stats provoke me (like villain's 3betting stat in particular position ~20%), or villain's fold to 3bets 80%, so I reraise with weak A sometimes.
And honestly I'm just trying out this aggressive playstyle, still making a lot mistakes.
Make your self defoult pre flop game plan, which is +/- unexploitable and deviate from it only with good reason, you will save a lot of money and nerves. My stats are 25/20/9 i fold to 4bet 30, fold to 3bet 45, and I rarely make pre flop adjustments, expect if there is fish in a blinds and against nits, after i made this it saved me so much time and released a lot of mental energy for post flop, I no longer think: oh I might 3bet this, or no I better call, or should I call or fold or 4bet vs 3bet, its in autopilot now.
Ok, so I went back to the tighter and more careful playstyle. Was actually happy with my poker yesterday, didn't do any major mistakes.
Although at start, was running really bad in NL50 and was starting to doubt myself. Luckily, second part was way better and I gained my confidence back ![]()
SLEEP TIME:
- January 7th - 00:10
Sessions:

- NL50 [520 hands] -100.8$
- NL50 [510 hands] +148.8$
- NL50 [540 hands] -27.4$
- NL50 [520 hands] +167.9$
