Grabbed by Holdem Manager
NL Holdem $20(BB) Replayer
Hero ($450)
($1,050)

Dealt to Hero 2♣ A♣

raises to $40, Hero calls $20

FLOP ($80) T♥ A♦ J♣

Hero checks, bets $100, Hero calls $100

TURN ($280) T♥ A♦ J♣ 6♠

Hero checks, bets $100, Hero raises to $310 (AI), calls $210

RIVER ($900) T♥ A♦ J♣ 6♠ Q♣

Villain is unknown... we've played 7 hands; my guess is that he is fishy...

Fold Pre?
Fold anywhere postflop?

Hi, Volrath89,
I don't see that anything is going to go differently if you bet differently.
You have the weakest A possible and hit an A on a flop that has broadway draw possibilities.

No Ax hands will fold to you. Most Tx and Jx won't fold either.
This guy can lose to your shove and still be in the lead.
However, all is not lost -- the blind levels are still low.

I would suggest bet/fold flop.
Others will suggest shove flop.
No worse hands will call (maybe an OESD?)

I'm no spingo player though.

Best of luck,
VS

Pre-flop seems pretty standard to me. On the flop I would be suspicious about his over potsize.
Readless I would fold the flop, because you playing a guessing game if you're right or wrong and there is the bet to big for. If you think he has to often a weaker hand I would play for stacks here with a shove.

Cheers,

With the stack sizes as is, I would consider 3 bet shove pre flop, depends on the player. When you call pre, I think it's ok to play as you did. I don't think you can fold here with top pair. His big bet on flop indicates bluff, J, 10 or weak Ax hand (most likely a splitt for you)

Thank you for your answers!

@SDK: Yes, indeed! I found his overbet very suspicious and a total guessing game. Good to know you can fold TP sometimes and that its not terrible, i thought hitting TP is normally "nuts" on this formats :P

@voidmind: I like your 3bet/shove preflop idea too!

He had KQ ...

Hi yes at 20bb you can 3bet shove very wide, a2s is definately an unexploitable 3bet shove and would save you these headaches post flop with a weak ace :)
