Session Review
As I suspected yesterday, today was a busy family day! We got all my little guy's cousins together and tried to have them pose for pictures at the photo-studio... kind of like herding cats... in the end, we'll spend way too much money on pictures of kids looking in all different directions, crying and picking their noses... ah well - might as well capture the moment as it is!
I didn't get any poker play in today, but did review over 120 hands from my session yesterday. Very satisfied with my level of play in general. I've noticed that my ranging skills are getting quite solid overall, specifically:
- I am rarely surprised by my opponents cards - they are almost always in the range I put him on and I don't believe I am putting him on too wide a range.
- Marked hands often turn out to be just on the good-side of the border - meaning I have a good understanding of the limits of correct ranges.
- My shoving ranges are usually very good.
- My calling ranges when medium-to-deep stacked are usually good.
- My calling ranges when EXTREMELY short-stacked (6 bb or less) are off a bit - I will be adjusting these over next few sessions.
A few hands from yesterday that I found interesting:
#1 - The "Is it Good or Lucky?" Hand
What makes it interesting? (It's the bubble, if I call I'm all-in, and both CO and I have the exact same stack!!!)

#2 - The "Do I Tempt Fate or Roll the Dice?" Hand
What makes it interesting? (It's the bubble, 3 of us under 2 bb, I can fold this and next hand and force an all-in shoot-out on the following hand between me, other shorty, and (likely) big-stack)

ICMizer analysis shows I shove ATC and he calls ATC... I'm still wondering if folding this and next hand, and allowing opponent to make mistake, or forcing 3-way all-in shoot-out is better...)
#3 - The "I still don't understand the balance between Equity and ICM Tax" Hand
What makes it interesting? (It's the bubble, I have a great 2nd stack, I think I have about 70% equity on a very dangerous turn - what to do?!?!?)
