Well normally with a hand that draws to The nuts is usually strong enough to atleast to call. And IF villian overplays pair+draws we're golden!

With a set you should call his raise as you have a redraw.

Since there is only 1 lower possible flush in our range (2h3h ... lol) I think we can consider just calling OTF. Also his raise in MW pot means his range is gonna be MUCH stronger than it would be in single raised pot. Oh, and he does not have a bluff here....like almost never.

If you have a set in a similar situation (note: it is min-raised by a known fish and remotely competent late position players should play a big chunk of their range), be very careful. The reason isn't the flush only (perhaps 20 of them to worry about), but it is also the 16 combos of J9 that at least the button should play. With bottom set you'd have 12 more combos to worry about.

Your questions are hard to answer (and probably shouldn't be answered) because change the situation just a tiny bit and the right play may be the opposite. If the fish had been a reg and opened with 4 bb you can forget about most made straights and flushes (like your own 4♥:2♥:♦).

Thanks all for the replies, I know that the other questions are hard to answer but I asked them as I would defend any 2 cards in this situation, so all the scenarios are possible... And the main thing I was thinking on this board was, if I can't play 4♥: 2♥: on this board, then why would I ever defend this hand, but having notes helps, knowing that the opponent is an extreme calling machine, so on this scenario the all-in was not that hard.

But I think going over this hand multiple times just helps me realize how hard playing low suited cards actually can be, even the most favorable flop for you can be a hard spot (if opponent is a regular, but then again I only defend this hand against regulars as the BB vs SB)

And of course I was nice to mr. UTG I even marked him as friend, I like to play with friends!

Given the min open, there are a ton of flush combos in villain's range. I would just call the min raise and try to get to showdown (generally). Lol @ the result.

On the flop, you have a flush while your opponents might have one, and then again, they might not. Of course, there is no wekaer flush than yours, and both players can have a LOT of Combos that give them that better flush. But they also can have a straight, set, flush draw, oesd, even top or overpair. Use Equilab to see how you will perform against those cards.

But you ask that questions on the flop. Now, it is too late. You got a nearly perfect flop. What else have you expected? If you want to wait for 442 or A35, you won't get the pot odds, so you cannot play 42s at all. If you play, you have to push the flush.
