Database Analysis of my last session

Mistake Bluffing just for the sake of it
Correction There are a lot of good regular players who will call because the bluff doesn't make sense.

Mistake 1 4bet bluffing vs an unknown. 2 Cbet bluffing after 4bet bluffing. 3 Bluffing after the cbet
Correction 1 4bet bluffing is a bluff we need to know our opponents are 3betting us loose in order to know we have enough fold equity. 2 4bet bluff is a preflop bluff when we are called we should play check fold and play cautiously when hit. 3 Bluffing after the flop is unprofitable, when they call the flop they have some kind of showdown value hand.

Database Analysis of my last session

I am by all means no perfect player and just trying to learn and improve, i will write my correction what i think is correct, if you know that it isnt please tell me :f_thumbsup:

vpip/pfr/3b 22/18/5 55 sample, this was his first 3bet, He 3bet me 2.5x witch i thought was strange, my frst thought was he was a fish and didnt want to scare me off KK+, so i had an easy play call for set, check/fold when missed. I made a few mistakes in this hand.

Mistake 1 Analyzing the player incorrectly
Mistake 2 Not trusting my gut
Mistake 3 Calling a double barrel in a 3bet pot with medium over pair
Correction 1 Because he done the same thing a CS would, doesnt make him a CS his vpip and pfr tell you hes likley to be a tag and his min 3bet is inducing a 4bet bluff.
Correction 2 Your gut is skills trained to the level of unconscious competence you should trust them, and if your wrong, what you know to that level is wrong nd needs changing
Correction 3 After calling a 3b there are 2 ranges, a value range and a bluff range, we cannot bet or raise with a mediocre hand like TT because the value range crush's us, so we have to bluff catch, standard bluffing line would be bet/check/? bet/bet/? is more value heavy, on another note, we need to know, that villain actually has a 3bet bluffing range otherwise we will just pay him off 100% of the time

players stats was 38/24 8% 3bet and 12% squeeze 95 sample

I know its not a big sample but we can amuse hes squeezing as a bluff more often

Mistake 1 Setmining with aggressive opponants behind
Mistake 2 Setmining vs a bluff heavy 3b/squeeze stat
Mistake 3 not check folding after setmining deep in a 3bet pot
Correction 1 We re most likley going to get squeezed and have to fold, we should 3bet as a bluff if we have Auto profit or fold
Correction 2 We should fold and set mine vs the nitty 3% 3bet stat, but remember to check fold when missed
Correction 3 If we set mine in a 3bet pot, it should be against a nit, who has monsters, so this is an easy fold

Player was unknown, he 3bet me and i thought, i can call because im ahead of his SCs bluffs i can play vs his small pocket pair bluffs well, and fold when he has his value

Mistake Making adjustments to a player when we dont know what there doing
Correction When players are unknown, you dont know what there doing there fore you cannot make adjustments you are just gambling on weather or not they are your playing roulette, poker is skill not gambling just be patient and wait till you get some notes/hands

This blog is a REAL work of art...

TT hand - excellent play imo. To get to the river like this TAG villain has AKhh, A5hh as bluffs. Some people can even have some 7s they 3bet pre and then "protection" bet (this is not good but they do!). You cannot fold turn imo, river is closer if he bets and prolly XF.

22 hand - fold preflop CO v UTG, too many people behind to 3bet you + too weak (I call like 66+ her tho). Don't like flop donk at all. Could XC it though.

QsTs hand - snap call preflop. Snap fold flop (hardly any turns we can continue on). When you float here you want lots of good turns so that when he X on turn you can bet twice and make him fold better - even a spade on the flop would be nicer. This is WAY too wide imo.

KhJc hand - Flop bet is good, plenty of EQ and he looks like he hates the flop, we can fold low PP's and Ahigh here = NICE! When he XC flop, donk turn I am like "wtf is this!?" and looks like a fish play - I don't try too hard to make fish fold. I think the turn raise is okay but I give up river.

TT hand - Meh, he jams over 2 of you, don't think he bluffs here and no draws on. Think you are correct to say fold.

99 hand - There is NO WAY you should fold turn here. River meh fold turn never in a million years!

I will say it again. This blog is awesome. I hope you don't mind me chirping in daily?

Ok i had the time to read your reply, i agree with you, about everything you said but these too spots, so i would like to discuss some more.

ok so the TT to begin with, I understand what your saying that he can have Ah5h and some other weaker SC of hearts, but until we know he 3bet bluffs with those hands we shouldnt add them to his range, lets say we call this player in this spot everytime and he never 3bet bluffs but we asume he does, how much money will we actually lose here? As soon as we see some hands thats when we can make adjustments and not before, i try to stick to this rule.

I also stick to this rule too, i dont asume a player makes a mistake until i see it, I.e in this case bluffing after the flop with AK, so i put him on QQ+ here and should fold to a turn bet, now if i seen him play a hand like 73o in the same way, and double barrel bluff, then its an easy call, and so does medium pairs too.

99 is the exact same thing, bluffing after the flop is a mistake, so a double barrel screams over pairs to me to an unknown, now again if i see him do this with bluffs then i make my adjustment and not before, i beleive your making a mistake, simply because most of the player pool are tags, who check for pot control etc and just bet there value.

I played the worst poker then i have in ages, i think it might be because i am trying to force floating spots, its throwing me off my game, i managed to pull it back towards the end though, this was a tilting session.

I went to play football and tennis so im pretty tired maybe that could of affected my play.

Game analysis of tilting session

1 - I have been randomly bluffing after the flop, so this tells me i have no idea what or who to double barrel against, rather then say don't do this, i believe this could be profitable if used correctly, so to save me some pennies i need to do some work in double barreling treble barreling.

2 - I can also see that my my defends vs re-stealing range needs some attention

3 - My cbet bluffs needs a lot of attention

4 - MW pots needs some work

5 - I can see that my preflop hand selection is also off

Ok then so, i dont want to work on all of these at once, so ill select the most exspensive ones to work on,

cbet bluffs
double barrel bluffing
resteal defends

This is not so bad v reg so long as you only barrel diamonds, To and maybe Ko. However, if you are trying to stop bluffing too much then by all means don't do that either. With your reads I really like your correction versus him (although a new table would be an even better one).

Hey EatYouPeas, since you said that about hand 1 i been trying to be a little more selective about cbetting, yea against a tag i agree you should cbet hand 2 however these players are loose and probably recreational we should just cbet for value.

I haven't played much over this weekend, my dad asked me yesterday if he could play some tornys, he promissed me that he wouldnt play cash and roulette, he did he lost about $60 in tournys and about $125 in cash over 800 hands and messed my graph up, im pissed off with him since he gave me the bankroll, i felt a bit shady to say no, he won a little back playing roulette, i said to him he can have the bankroll back, but he told me just to tell him to pissoff when he asks for a go so i completely banned him now, after he was finished over all he lost about $75 and left my bankroll on $795, on the + side i had a good session today with a few cruel hands at the end.

87dd - I like yr aggression, especially against his flop cbet size. 6 on river is bit pants but if you are going to triple your hand is quite nice one to do it with. Could call flop getting nice odds. Cannot believe his hand. You must be famous for this bluffing!!! ;)

87dd - I like yr aggression, especially against his flop cbet size. 6 on river is bit pants but if you are going to triple your hand is quite nice one to do it with. Could call flop getting nice odds. Cannot believe his hand. You must be famous for this bluffing!!! ;)

I always usually 3bet KK preflop but there was 2 players left to act that had a 30% squeeze over 40 hands, so i decided to call.

Onto the 87, the guy is sat there, with 90bbs we should assume he is recreational player probably a CS (either way hes probably a bad player) since he calls preflop and calls the cbet, we shouldnt bluff vs him.

I rarely make this bluff lol, I had 40 hands on hiim theres no way he could know that :f_biggrin: i think he felt pot committed on the river and called he had $13 left and the pot was $17

KK - not bad to exploit the opponents squeezing tendencies here with a call. Why bet so much on the river? What hand that we beat calls? I would go for a smaller value bet and aim towards Qx and possibly JJ.

You mean 30% over 40 squeeze opportunities or over 40 hands? And they are squeezing v UTG & MP? Yh okay, that is good if you expect a squeeze often enough WP. What about the flop raise, what is that for?

Do you think JJ would call the flop raise? What other range do you think he would call the flop raise and turn bet with?

He was a tag player playing at 18/22 over 200 sample, he raised UTG i figured after calling the flop raise he had something like, JTs, AQ AA KK, maybe KQ, i expected sets to shove the flop so i discounted them from his range when he called, he only had $13 and the pot was $23, i figured he was pot committed and would call 100% of that range (appart from JTs).

What do you think about that?

Database Analysis of my last session

I am by all means no perfect player and just trying to learn and improve, i will write my correction what i think is correct, if you know that it isnt please tell me :f_thumbsup:

This player was playing 37/11 over 20 hands, i know its not enough but this indicates he is a CS

Mistake Cbet bluffing vs a CS
Correction CS call with a very wide range sometimes total air, we should not make any cbet bluffs, value value value

Overall im quite pleased with my cbet topic i seem to be being much more selective, i will keep working on this, until im making less mistakes here, there is one other hand i want to do a analysis on since its another weak area

Player was sat with 90bb we can asume he is a recreational player.

Mistake Bluffing vs a player that wont fold
Correction Before we make a bluff we need to ask ourselves a few questions

1- Can the player fold? i.e is he a good tag or a nit?
2- What are we representing and does it make sense?

If the player cant fold we should call with pot odds and implied odds.
