I see. I wanted to try those ranges so it was helpful.:f_drink:

See you at the tables:f_cool:

To give you an impression of how it is:

I am breaking even for almost 1500 hypers :f_cool:... but 1 big score and big profit again:f_tongue::f_tongue:.. 1 more, always hunting for the 1 more ... it happens every now and then

This is my Pokercraft graph, almost all hypers. I think the graph does not include (rake?) I don't have the data myself. Before that I was not playing all kinds of mtts and losing because often they took to long, didn't want to play anymore, and let the money be bye gone. I had no respect for the money and was basically throwing it away (only small buyins).

I think around this moment in the graph I came back to the pokerstrategy forum and started playing seriously. And I did from that moment on until now. But I do stay away from the longer mtts because I am afraid I can't keep my focus or really want to quit before it's over. You see I am diagnosed with some level of asperger and I think it might be that being a bitch, and I get a strong urge to go do something else in the midst of an mtt, and somehow the urge is so strong I can't play anymore. anyway. When I play hypers, this isn't really happening.

I think there is more money in the normal speed full ring mtts though if you want to play mtts.

But do you see the long "breaking-even"-part at the end?

Downswing-March?

I hope not ... I just need 1 more hit and I'm even again! 1more ...

Spoiler

I think I made (just) a few tilt-based mistakes, but overall I am very happy with my mtt-play lately and the latter part of last year, to the best of my knowledge, but then again, I'm no expert :f_biggrin:

I can't seem to win any hand, a lot of unluck after each other, but it gives me hope: that means you can get this lucky as well, and just scoop some very nice tournament someday.

I've been thinking about mtts and variance ... there is so much luck/unluck involved that you will really need to make a very large volume to grind away the luck factor enough (for me). Some people do make this volume, but I will never make that volume it 1-tabling mtts.

Playing mtts on a single table is just too much of a gamble for me because of that reason. While i can't manage multiple mtts at once, I am able to play 3 or 4 tables fastfold cashgames somehow. So with cashgames, it's much easier for me to grind away most of the luck factor.

So, I think I am jumping back to cashgames as my main game. But since I like tournaments so much, I will still put aside some money to gamble in mtts on sundays for example ... gamble with a positive expectation.

I am not completely sure yet, I will play some cash and decide later.

Played some cash

Played some fastfold 2nl, 2- or 3-tabling ... 4 tables is still a bit much for me now ...

Nice and close to EV, that's the way I like it! If this trend would continue like this, I would stick to cashgames for sure. With the fastfold you can hop in and out which is so comfortable.

I do miss the trill that comes with mtts however :f_wink:, so I think I will get that fix on Sundays with the large fields and bad opponents (although sometimes I overestimate the really bad ones, and stack them because of it, sunday is a special day :f_grin:)

If all goes well, next month I will (re)deposit some $$$ to play 5nl, probably something like 300+$.

Seperate MTT-Bankroll

Tried my luck with an MTT and caught nothing ...

From now on, I am going to keep seperate cash and mtt bankrolls. Basically all profit coming directly from the cashtables goes to the cash-roll, and everything else (mtt-winnings, daily freebie-winnings, rakeback, and also the C$ I win, ...) goes to my mtt-roll.
I can transfer from the mtt-roll to the cash-roll (for example if I have mtt-money and want to jump cashgame stakes), but not the other way around. Cash is the main game, mtt's are the side-hustle... :f_grin:

I think that's a good deal to make with myself ...

I will try the cash for 1 month, and probably refill my bankroll to 60 buyins @ nl5 ($300), and go from there! I left $50 on my account to play nl2, but thanks to luck I have $80 now.

I feel the same way.

Average pool stats (from 10K hands in every position * 6 = 60K hands sample)

I forgot to cancel Holdem Manager this year, which is good because it has this nice feature with which you can take a look at some average pool stats (by setting some filters manually, takes some effort, but you can save the filters). That's the only thing I still use it for, since I have Pokertracker as well. But to my knowledge these things are not possible with Pokertracker.

I extracted the RFI% and 3Bet% with holdem manager, and I made a reusable excel-sheet to calculate the rfi-and 3bet-opportunities they had in order to finally calculate the range-percentages.

So here are those range-% from $2nl Rush (might have to redo with bigger sample):

The goal is (but taking some time for it, no rush :f_grin:) to assign some more specific ranges with FlopZilla, and ultimately come up with some average counter-ranges for myself, also with FlopZilla. These average base-ranges then can be tweaked in-game according to however the players in that specific hand derive from the average ranges. But like I said, taking some time for this. Spending a lot more time playing...

I did assign a specific range already for the EP RFI (18.0%). I am using weights of 100%, 75%, 50%, 25% and 0%. It is of course a simplification, but it has some detail as well this way. So this is the average range I assigned to EP RFI:

Then I will do the remaining ranges as well, and come up with some counter-ranges ... that's the plan ...

BTW I am not saying these average ranges are good ranges, but it's from what I see at the tables ...some players, quite a lot are really tight, that's why the ranges might not make sense to you haha :f_thumbsup:

Winrate drop

Somebody pushed the postflop doomswitch! can't hit a thing. It's hard to know when I should bet now and when I shouldn't. Messes up my game. Feel lost. Almost 20K hands and hardly winning (EV) ...

Drop drop

Spoiler

Well the good news is I am close to EV and I am up!
The bad news is the winrate is pretty low. Now I know I am supposed to blame this on the rake because it's microstakes, but I am not. I think 3-4 stacks went in there unnecessarily. Actually, I am wondering where the rake is becoming better, or does it gradually get better through the stakes??
Some more good news is that I finished 23rd/1250 in an mtt for $16 profit.
But of course the bad news is that I didn't get further!!

Yes it's always like a rollercoaster ... you know I Hate rollercoasters? I don't like my body being thrown places I was not intending to go ... :f_grin:

Hi, Stackoffski :f_cool:
Do you play at GG 5NL R&C? It was tough for me so I play at regular 5NL tables.

I played $2.5 Speed Racer and lost about 10 buy-ins:transpire: So I need to win at cash games, haha.

GL,

GL,

Hey Vision!
Yeah the speedraces can go quickly phew :f_eek: I'm not playing them as much anymore. It's like ultra-hyper and you need an even bigger bankroll.
There are some daily hypers that start with 6min levels (100bbs) and later on 3mins after late reg is closed. A bit more game there. Or if you want fast action instead of speedracers you can also just late reg non-bounty with 3min or 4min levels.

For now, I still play at 2nl rush even! I will play 5nl when I win enough at nl2 or mtts, or in the middle of april when I will deposit some more $$. I played a few rounds nl5 rush today, really need to get used to different bet-amounts when I go there, it's been such a long time, playing mtts all the time. But winning/losing sure goes faster at nl5 so I can't wait to get there again.

I think it's pretty tough too. According to Pokertracker I payed $21 rake over 21K hands while winning only $4 EV. So now I am complaining about the rake after all :f_pleased: I think I need to tighten up a bit preflop for the rush-tables. That might be better.

Regular tables are most likely much much better/easier because you can hand-read a lot better! The pools at the micros are so large, it's different players each time. I am just not playing long sessions (yet), zo the rush is easy to hop in/out or put on pause etc. It's a good way the find an average game too because of lack of information (which makes it harder ... I think my strength is handreading ability and exploitative style of poker which works fine at the micros and mtts, but at the rush tables you have lack of information :f_confused:)

I color-code a looot of players at rush according to aggression which makes it a lot easier to get a quick overview of the table. You can even just look in the lobby and color-code everyone playing 3-4 tables according to their preflop stats. I have colors for SuperNit, Nit, TAG, (S)LAG and then also just Fish and MonkeyFish, which is a bigger fish :f_biggrin:. (SLAG is my term for Slightly loose and aggressive).

I will try playing a bit tighter myself at the rush tables.

* Actually, maybe the rake is not too bad if you consider the 20% rakeback I get. (+ taxes paid for)

Average pool stats again (but with 23K hands sample this time)

I redid the average pool stats from rush 2nl with 23K hands. A little bit different, not much:

For comparison, the old version:

Hopefully today I will cross the 25K hands mark.

25K Hands @ nl2 fastfold + rakeless graph

Passed the 25K mark!

Breaking even over 25K hands at nl2 sounds awful. I don't think I've been particularly unlucky, I think it's been like in the middle, run a bit good for a while, and then bad for a while, but nothing disastrous or god-mode luck. It can go a lot better and a lot worse I know.

I made a custom stat in pokertracker to show my profit minus rake in the graph. Interesting to say the least :f_biggrin:

Spoiler

I am winning more with rakeback, leaderboard etc then actual cash-winnings.

Well, let's play another 25K ... I'm curious if there will be improvement or degradation. :f_eek:

I deposited some money earlier than said to play 5nl, next month I will deposit more though.

I think I'll be okay at nl5, at least you get a bit more rakeback and more chips for #ThanksGG daily Flipout (enough to actually win a bit sometimes).
Always opportunity to step back, but since I didn't loose I thought what the heck enough with the nl2 already!!

update:

... a few hours later ...

Spoiler

I don't know what's up with nl2 :f_zZz:, I start playing nl5 and poker seems easy again ... :f_drink::f_pleased:
