LOL, the only problem here is, as someone else already wrote, that pavels444 seems like a little bitch sometimes. Seriously, you make a whole scene out of the fact someone gave you a 1 for the blog? lol it's like those teenager sites where you'd put your own pictures on and then compete to get as many 10's as possible.

I actually was following this blog with quite an enthusiasm (I'm also HUSNG Hyper player), but your attitude seems so off lately. Let me briefly elaborate:

1.) This scene with someone liking/not liking your blog and you being offended like a 3 year old baby girl (and even talking crap about other ppl in your blog name lol).
2.) Just too much whinning in the last two pages. I'm not sure if there is really so little HUSNG Hyper players here on pokerstrategy.com, but c'mon, your down 20BI and you're already depressed as hell. ppl are down quite a lot more than this, and are also running hugely below EV (100+ BI's) and I don't see them whine about it like that.

First learn as much as possible about variance, so you'll understand that you have been running pretty darn hot in the past and that it can easilly go either way, and it should not make you so depressed as you are.

I have absolutely nothing against you, in fact, as I mentioned, I have been hapilly following your blog for quite some time now, but c'mon, I think it's time to man up a bit, in both regards 1.) and 2.)

Kind Regards,

Jkob.

I agree with Tim's post 100%. This is a pretty good blog (voted 10/10 for what it's worth ), wouldn't like for that opinion to be tarnished.

Let's just all get along, where's the group hug emoticon? :f_biggrin:

omg fuck this, i didnt even finish reading this so will just react to the stuff I quote. I thanked him for correcting me!!! then i got 1/10 ... asked him why and I get 9times 1/10 mark the next morning, wtf? I know bobo has a lot of friends here ... it should be clear to anyone who is responsible for this.

I wouln't care so much if he wasn't a coach here and wasn't douche all around this and czech forum

EDIT: second part

I'm sorry if it sounded like too much whining.

Spoiler

(first half od page 9 kinda sucks, agreed

I'm aware of previous hot run and know variance can be so much more cruel. I just write what I'm going through ... post graphs etc. I thought it didn't complain too much. If so, I'm sorry. Will shut up next time

EDIT: I'm turning off my computer, gotta go to bed, having an exam tomorrow. Will read any response in the morning

However, we now suddenly have a whole vendetta brewing, including a pretty unpleasant change to this blog title. I'm going to be impartial since I don't know if there is any 'history' between the two of you. But, might I humbly suggest the following:

-BOBOsvk, why don't you apologise if you offended OP and confirm you were just trying to help a fellow non native English speaker with a particular word he did not realise he was mispelling.

-pavels4444, why not say you're sorry if you overreacted, change your blog title to something less inflamatory to a person's reputation and leave it be.

Hopefully you're both grown up enough to do the right thing. Let's keep this forum a good place to be. Thanks in advance and sorry for sticking my nose in.

p.s. @pavels4444, I'm sorry for your recent horrid run - it makes us all feel hopeless at times. Make sure you find something positive in it and don't let it beat you by turning to the negative side of things. Your results will turn around if you keep strong mentally. Regards, -Tim

Tim the pacifist as usual _cool: Agreed completely.

Everytime someone has a bad run, he never dissapoints saying: "grind it through biatch", "this is how a bad run looks like - posts his graph" ... you hardly find some helpful words that might actually be expected now that he is a coach. I actually lol here. Played 60k+ games or whatever and still playing the micros, wtf?

Tbf, this isn't Bobo being an arsehole, that's the correct response to whining/downswing posts. Sure it would be nicer to be all "Awww I feel so sorry for you" but that's not helpful. Whining about being on the wrong side of variance is a serious mental game problem. One that was only (partly) fixed for me by someone just saying "Listen, stop fucking whining, it does no good". Sure I still get pissed off in my blog occasionally and on Skype but i'm a lot better than I used to be, and that has helped my mental side of poker a hell of a lot. This was all down to one person telling me to stfu whining because it doesn't help at all.

Nice blog btw (Before all this shitstorm ldo :f_biggrin: )

Tell me why :) ty (btw. i have been writing this entry for 10min and got another 5 ratings. It's like fuckin aliens exist here)

Maybe people just dont like your attitude. When you start abuse someones friend, this is natural reaction.

Good morning all, I'd like to apologize, I definitely overreacted and just don't wanna continue here like this. I'm going to write a longer response (summary of this situation with a more open mind) later today after my exam.
I honestly didn't think it through when I posted few things. Didn't even read some of it after my self before posting. Once again, I'm sorry. This blog is going to be over soon.

I actually like flustrated, or maybe flusterated as a fusion of both flustered and frustrated, and am going to use the word whenever I have a bad run that isn't due to me overplaying TP or bluffing in 5cd. Not too often, guys.

Everyone has the right to post a whine once in a while, though Pavel's is one of the more coherent ones I have read in the English forum.

My 2 cents(even though most seem to be contributing a euro or two):

Go Pavel!, Go Pavel!

p.s. Don't let the blog stop you _cool:

I surely hope you will continue writting this blog, since there are not many like it and I would really like to see how you will do in the future (hoping you'll do well ofc!).

I didn't say you can't whine (or that you even have to apologize for it, as you did in my response). I just said it bothered me, since I got a feeling that you don't take the word variance to seriously and are not 100% aware it exist (I did kinda noticed that already even before your bad days started, since you didn't manage to see all the positive variance you've been given).

By saying that I didn't mean to say that this is a crappy blog or smthing, I said that because I missed you improving yourself on the mental side also. I think you have a great blog, and everything should be included in it, I was just pointing out a certain thing you did (whinning for two pages :) ) to show you have a mental problem, that's probably gonna cost you in hypers in the long run, that's all!

GL with your exam, do not care for other ppl opinions too much and have fun playing poker ;)

Regards,

Jkob.

Hi all, I'm going to summarize the argument that has been going on on this blog for the last 24h+ or so.

Why I reacted the way I did and when I changed the blog name?

It seems like some people have a hard time understanding what may have upset me in the first place.
Bobo commented not just here but also in my other blog in kinda a weird way. For those who don't understand czech, let me tell you.
He quoted my whole post (which was pretty long) and highlighted 2 sentences. First when I said, that the edge in hypers is relatively small even vs. fish and therefore the swings are pretty big. Secondly, at the end of the post, I said that overall I feel like I have pretty decent edge on fish, so I just have to grind it through.
He highlighted those sentences and wrote: Dafug? So small or decent edge? I responded accordingly, normally and he started writing completely irrelevant stuff afterwards... Then he wrote here that I should be able to spell the word that has appeared in my blog the most.

Some of you probably think that right after he pointed this out, I changed the blog title and added "fyi, BoboSVK is the biggest asshole on this site" because I received the 1/10 mark.
That did not happen! The thing was that me and Alficor1 called Bobo a douche and when I opened my blog the very next morning. I had 9 new ratings, all 1/10. Once again, I remind you that prior to this, the blog title remained unchanged. I highly doubt that some random people got offended that I called bobo a douche and within 8 hours, I got 9 new ratings (overnight). That just doesn't happen randomly, if I got 5 votes in total since summer 2011.

Obv I'm aware that people started giving me 1/10 after I changed the blog title. I apologize for this, wasn't very nice, shouln't have done it.
(27 ratings for approx. 210+ posts in this blog - not bad right )

Spoiler

In eyes of some of you, I'm a little bitch cuz I reacted like this (with a blog change) just to the 1x 1/10 mark. I didn't care that time. Just wanted to know the reasoning behind that

Let's say I'm a little bitch whining about my "bad" run. How I feel about my run and about the methods to overcome bad variance?

Overall in hypers, I'm just around 1800usd above EV. Some of you probably forgot (didnt see) that I was 1500usd below in turbos in fall. That was at lower stakes and overall over 60BI (I started taking poker a bit more seriously since summer 2011 - beginning of this blog). So I'm just about even in husng.
Let me tell you, 60BI below EV in turbos is definitely worse than in hypers. So I already have gotten through a bad variance before ... whined about it more in a czech blog though.
I'm aware that variance can be pretty brutal, I know that I have a mental game problem that was definitely much worse in fall than it is now though.

However, I believe in totally different methods on how to get through that than Bobo. Bobo will mindlessly mass grind ot through not realizing that his game might need some improvements. When there is someone on the forum who just doesnt feel like playing because of variace, Bobo says: „dafug? Grind it through“. I hope that some people will agree that it might be better to take a break, do some HH, get your game reviewed by some other reg that you respect. Once you feel fine and prepared, start playing again!

I mean Bobo's approach definitely might work for some people. To say at least one good thing, I admire his work ethics and being able to put in such a sick volume. The main thing that I mind are his douchy comments.
Btw Bobo: if you have something to say, we can just play a HU challenge. I would suggest 1k hyper games, 60usd level, 2-tabling and 1k usd sidebet.

If you don't wanna play, please don't bother posting anything in any of my blogs ever again. Besides your response to these fun last 2 pages.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm sorry my blog turned out this way. I actually didn't know I had so many followers :) Thanks to those who liked it :f_grin: However, atm I don't really feel like continuing here and probably will switch my english blog to 2+2.

Not sure if I said everything, if I find anything worth writing, will post it. (obv will respond) ASAP though, I'd just gladly close up this topic

Have a nice day all :]

EDIT: hope my english is clear to everybody

Think it'll be a real shame if you quit blogging here because of this whole ordeal. There are a very small number of HU SnG blogs around here and since I switched to them i've enjoyed reading them all, I think this was the first one I noticed

Rated 10 btw :f_biggrin:

EDIT: Wooo my 10 rating changed it from 1 Thumbs Down to 1 Thumbs Up

This may have been true in the (distant) past but you're doing him a total injustice by suggesting he doesn't work on his game. When he says "Grind through it", I take it to mean "keep doing the right things". Not just play, work too. You must remember Bobo had exactly the same issues you are having. His response was the same: whine here, whine on Skype but as he has gotten more experience his mental game has improved immensely. Part of growing is realising our mistakes and sometimes poking fun at them. By saying "Grind through it" he is acknowledging that that's all he had to do, detach from the short term results, keep grinding, keep learning and everything else will fall into place. You perhaps better ask him how many regs he's been coached from before you presume otherwise ;-)

I think it's a personality issue. It's the carrot or the stick. I respond well to the stick and not at all to the carrot. You (and many others) are clearly the other way around. "Grind through it biatch" may not be the answer you're looking for now but when your own mental game improves, that's perhaps what you'll realise you needed to do. Less time wallowing, more time getting on with it.

Put it to bed now, you two will make up or at least have a biggest balls-off over the felt. Either way you need to keep blogging here because it's clear you have a fair few people who enjoy reading it. Isn't one of the reasons that we blog to highlight issues with our games, to improve it and to have a record of doing so ? If so it has really served it's purpose here.

Peace.

Hi all. I decided that I will continue writing my blog here. Not sure right now how frequently I will update :)
Since may just ended, I think there is a time for summary.

Spoiler

The bad run from april continued, so if anyone is not in a mood for reading somewhat crying post, just don’t read the rest.

May Graph

picture hosting

The positive thing about may is the fact that I feel like I played well for the most part but I obv can’t influence the card distribution. I’m really unhappy even with my EV, hope this will turn around soon.
May cliffs:
:diamond: I played basically only 60s with a few 100s. Thanks to my run, I just didn’t feel like playing higher too much
:diamond: There is still a huge room for improving at 2-tabling. I still 1-tabled for the most part but I feel like I’m slowly improving even at 2-tabling :)
:diamond: I’m a mental game fish. I feel like EV influences me too much. I rely too much on it. I don’t really mind if I’m running below EV for some time but just hate to see it not going up. Therefore I’m gonna switch the EV line off for next month. I should think of some punishment if I switch it on again.

As you probably know, I had pretty sick hotrun at the beginning of the year, running a lot above EV. Well at one point this month, I was below EV overall in hypers. But thanks to running good in AIs at the end of this month, I’m back to running above EV. The end of this month was kinda funny. It was going in a sense like this: „Wtf, AQ vs AK again?? Oh good, I hit :/“

As for the June goals, I’m not really sure what I sure include there. I have to study a ton, I will be most likely going on a roadtrip to eastern Europe, so my volume is gonna be a big fail most likely. I’m also leaving to Asia at the end of june for 5 weeks which means no poker in July. I have a lot of plans for the rest of summer also so It seems like I will be mostly spending the money rather than trying to earn some.

What should I concentrate on in June?
:club: Play A game, don’t tilt, improve mental game
:club: Improve at 2-tabling
:club: Play some more 100s
:club: Profit

----------------------------------------

Well the first day in June started out great and I experienced the best husng in my "career".
Really can't complain at all, almost forgot how it feels to run this good. I played only 60s with 2x 100s exceptions (lost both obv ). The only fail is the fact that I just had to see my EV at the end of the day. I will try to keep it switched off, will see how it goes.

For the last time, I'm sorry about my previous comments here in my blog, so I decided to make a short video of my play for those who follow :)

Another HU SNG blog I didn't follow yet, there are alot of these blogs these days!

If you don't mind, a few comments about your video:

- Your English is perfectly fine!

- 00:30; I think this is always a cbet because of the draws, you might wanna check behind a 7x sometimes, but 2nd pair top kicker definitely a cbet here. Also I would be the turn bigger to protect your hand a bit more, like 90-100. And like your riverbet, but would have made it 120 like you said.

- 02:29; I would just openshove the A2o for 16,5bb here. You minraise and end up calling his reshove anyway, but the most you get out of it is a 60/40. So I don't like minraise/calling there. And what you mention about him losing a big pot, he did fold the previous hand against your Q2s, so don't think he's that tilted. And besides, it doesn't really matter cause A2o against ATC isn't gonna have alot of equity anyway.

- 07:00; nh, like your riverplay

- 08:00; why do you decide to check to him, is it because you normally also don't stab these kind of boards in limped pots? Or you expect to see too many folds?

- 10:20; same situation basically. I still think you should more often lead out than go for the check/raise, because you want to pick up some limped pots if you miss as well. Picking up these pots with just a minbet when you hold air is nice obv, but you can only do that when you lead out some of your better hands as well. What do you think about this?

- 10:55; right, here you do stab. Then I still refer to my previous question, you don't think you need to balance against most of the weak players on these stakes and? Or as I once heard in a video "play exploitable against the unaware".

- 11:40; totally agree there, slowplaying there happens way too often.

Nice vid :)

You have to donate 1 BI to a charity?

Also, really enjoyed your video!

Here I think it is definitely better to check raise this board. He might play back against our stab but I think he will try to take it away most of the time once I check to him. I believe there is more value here in check raising.

against random, I think it is great to lead out in limped pots if you miss and lead out with your value hands as well IF they are too passive and are not gonna stab their air in position. I obv don't need to balance against random weak players so I'm just trying to do what I think is best in each spot. That said, I think with the Q8o hand, i believe it might be better to check raise vs this guy :)

Glad you liked it :)
