It has been a slow trolling week... it's okay, it happens. 
Primrose and I have been tying up some loose ends, while also going on some poker adventures.
Next week will be slow too, maybe we can at least do some cooking again, but we are looking forward to returning after Easter, with poker challenges and live meet-ups.

It's always a circus with the Trolls... 
And quite literally so during this chapter in Prim's athletic career, which started when she was about 12 years old - and this time, it was by her own choice, without being forced by her parents.
And no, Primrose did not literally perform in a circus. 
She did do several stage shows, however. Unfortunately, no footage or photographs of them are known to exist. In general, it seems like my own childhood has been documented a little better through pictures, videos and other artifacts than the grindette's, but this kind of technology was a little more accessible during my days too, I suppose. Also, I can be a bit of a hoarder, especially with "historic" stuff.
I asked Prim for an example of what she did back then, and she showed me this video:

If Prim's performance was anything like that, then she definitely has my respect. This puppy is full of surprises, isn't she?
Most of what Primrose did in these circus acrobatics was somewhere along these lines, I believe. Pyramids, gymnastic stuff... all kinds of things that are nice to look at, and always in a group, I've been told. Prim also did some juggling, with up to four balls or pins at the same time. She mentioned that she won't be able to do it anymore, probably not even three, but still, good stuff. 
I can barely handle three of them.

Well, I was pretty flexible when I was younger, but that´s a couple of decades ago. Actually, I was pretty flexible until age 35.

I'm turning 35 this year, and I'd expect that you are still a lot more flexible than I am.

I still do some streching but I also have to admit that I had neglected it for a long time. Well, gonna do stretching again, as soon as my leg gets healthy.
All right, Easter is approaching, which also means that we will solve this week's Troll Trivia on Saturday rather than Friday, and we will present the next question on Monday. After that, everything is back to normal - or as normal as you can get with the Trolls.
Primrose will also be away for a few days before Easter, I believe, but the Trolls should still get some cooking in, at least.

We are back on our burger world tour, and we are going to the Caribbean this time, to the island of Cuba.
Today's version will be inspired by the Cubana sandwich, even though it commonly agreed upon that it was invented in Florida, by Cuban immigrants.
Instead of pork roast, we will be using some standard ground pork, formed into patties. It is supposed to be a burger, after all.
We will use ham too, and I decided to air fry it, since the ham on a Cubana is usually heated along with the other ingredients too.
Now for the actual sandwich. There are different approaches when it comes to the condiments, but I decided to just go for the simple way where I spread mustard on the top bun and mayonnaise on the bottom bun. I normally don't even like mustard, but it is not on my "don't even touch" list, so I decided to include a generous teaspoon or so.
We will put a slice of emmenthal cheese and some pickles on the top bun, and some ham on the bottom bun.
Then we will add another slice of emmenthal and the patty on the bottom bun...
...and then put it all together to finished our Cubana inspired burger.
It was good... can't say a lot more about it. Just a standard sandwich, not much that made it stand out. Certainly the weakest of the pork-based burgers so far, but not bad.
Primrose didn't mind the combo when I told her about it and showed her the finished version, though she had some concerns early on.
Personally, I would put it in... maybe 14th place.

This is how one of those maps could have looked like - none of the originals were kept around to this day, obviously. We would map out the backyard and assign some places to search to each of us.
The reason why they were wrinkled was actually that my brother and I had a fight once in the year when we started making those maps, whenever it was, and I crumpled up our newly made map in an act of defiance. As usual, we made peace shortly afterwards, and as we unfolded the map again, we decided that we liked the wrinkled look, it made it look like some old treasure map. Therefore, we decided to crumble up our maps in all later years too, without the fighting.
Some of our Easter egg hunts were indeed recorded, but never on audio cassettes. They were filmed on VHS-C tapes, but only a few times in our younger years, and our parents were the ones recording us.
Here is 5-year-old Harrier returning with his 1994 loot:
One of those recordings does show us wielding water guns later that day, but they were not part of the hunt, they were most likely received as gifts during the process.
4-year-old Harrier is taking aim at some fish in the pond here. He would do the same in his adult years at some online poker tables - in both cases, with varying degrees of success.

The Trolls are visiting a new region of the world today, taking a culinary trip to Turkey.
To get the dad jokes out of the way first, because I know some of you love them... no, we are not using any turkey meat. 
I will use all beef patties, even though mixed pork/beef ground meat was on sale today, but using pork for a burger inspired by this country would have seemed very inappropriate.
The burgers will be inspired by the classic kebab sandwich, which is a super popular street food here in Germany, I think you can find a takeout store in just about any town that is not a village - and sometimes even in some of them. I had a look online for recipes for a good seasoning, and I found this:
For 1 kg of meat, take about two teaspoons of spicy paprika, two teaspoons of mild paprika, and a teaspoon each of oregano, chili powder, cumin, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder and salt. I used only about 350 g of meat, so I adjusted the ratio a little.
I decided to mix the seasoning in directly with the patties, rather than simply sprinkling them with it.
Most kebab stores here sell garlic sauce and a yogurt and herb based white sauce with their meals, sometimes also a spicy sauce as a third option. That yogurt based sauce is usually my pick when I have takeout, so I looked for a good copycat, and I think I found one:
I'll get to the adjusted ratio right away, I used three tablespoons of yogurt, two tablespoons of mayonnaise, and a little less than half a teaspoon each of dried dill, dried parsley, basil powder, mint powder, and oregano. I also added a tiny bit (a quarter of a teaspoon?) of pickle relish, because the original recipe suggested mashing up a small pickle for a much larger amount of sauce. It also suggested adding a bit of orange juice, which I skipped entirely.
Finally, for the bread, I used some store bought pita pockets. I decided to use an entire pita as one half of bread, because I figured that by halving it, the bread would be too thin and get drenched by the sauce. I was wrong, but we'll get to it when we do the verdict.
The patty is a little small for it, I should have used more meat.
I then added a generous amount of red cabbage.. of which I still have tons, it will be a challenge to use it up. Wanna take some off my paws next Friday, Prim?
Then some lettuce and onions - I assure you that there still is some meat under there.
It seemed messy enough already, so I decided not to take any chances and put the sauce on the other pita.
Turn it around carefully, and here's our Turkey-inspired burger:
Maybe I should have just used a regular burger bun... the sauce and seasoning were spot on, but the big question is still "Where's the beef?".
I decided to split the pita for the second burger after all, which caused no problems with the sauce - it was actually less messy to eat because it wouldn't fall apart as easily, having no pocket - and it had a much better meat to bread ratio.
Like our Netherlands burger and to a lesser degree the Hungarian one, this is a version that could have been much better. Fix the issue with the meat ratio, and this would have been a contender for one of the top spots. Still, the spices carried it, and I will surely keep those recipes around, maybe we will see them on Recipe Raiders eventually too. Primrose approved of the pictures as well.
As it stands, I think I'll put it in 12th place.
